This beautiful small museum was formally the George Wise family farmhouse, built on Lake Road in 1865. Former owners of the house, United Grocers, Inc., donated the structure to the Milwaukie Historical Society. The historic house was moved and restored through the combined efforts of the Society members, the entire community and bicentennial grant. Dedication took place June 7, 1975.

Special guided tours for school classes, scouts, clubs and small groups during the week can be arranged by appointment.

Star attraction on grounds of Milwuakie Historical Society is "Old No. 3", horse drawn street car dating from 1872. Originally serving Portland Street Railway Co. As the sole survivor of the area's earliest street cars, "Old No. 3" was restored and later became property of the Milwaukie Historical Society.
